Terms & Conditions

Jackson Loft Conversion, JCL Build LTD and Carpentry Services

Thank you for choosing us for your loft conversion project. To keep everything clear and straightforward, here are our terms:

1. Quotes & Booking

  • Quotes are valid for 30 days.
  • Your booking is confirmed once you approve the quote (in writing or by email) and pay the agreed deposit.
  • If you make changes after booking, the cost and timescale may change.

2. Payments

  • An agreed deposit is required before work starts.
  • For bigger projects, staged payments may be agreed in advance.
  • The final balance is due within 30 days of completion.

3. What’s Included

  • We’ll carry out all work agreed in your quote, using quality materials and skilled workmanship.
  • If a specific material isn’t available, we may use an equivalent alternative.
  • Any extra work not in the original quote will be priced and agreed with you first.

4. Access & Safety

  • Please make sure we can access the property during working hours.
  • We’ll follow all health & safety rules, and ask that you don’t enter restricted work areas while we’re on site.

5. Permissions & Regulations

  • You are responsible for arranging planning permission, building control approval, and any party wall agreements if required.

6. Timing & Delays

  • We’ll always aim to finish on time, but delays may happen due to weather, supply issues, or unexpected site conditions. If that happens, we’ll keep you informed.

7. Guarantee

  • All our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months after completion.
  • This doesn’t cover normal wear and tear, damage caused by others, or lack of maintenance.
  • Any manufacturer warranties on materials will be passed on to you.

8. Insurance & Liability

  • We carry full public liability insurance (up to £1,000,000). Please let your building insurance company know works are happening.
  • We’re not responsible for indirect costs or losses (e.g. lost rent, inconvenience) caused by delays or issues beyond our control.

9. Ending the Agreement

  • If you wish to cancel after work has started, you’ll need to pay for the work and materials used up to that point.
  • If payments are not made as agreed, we may stop work until the account is settled.

10. Governing Law

  • These terms are covered by the laws of England and Wales.

Customers acknowledge and agree to be bound by Richard Jackson’s Terms & Conditions upon accepting a quotation. A full copy of the Terms & Conditions is available upon request.
