How long will it take to build a loft conversion in Brighton?

A loft conversion takes 8 weeks with Jackson Lofts Brighton

A standard loft conversion can take 8 weeks to build. During the first 6 weeks Richard and his team will access the loft via the scaffolding and keep disruption to your home to a minimum.

A Velux or eves loft conversion in an average 3 bedroom terraced house with a master bedroom and an en-suite bathroom would take between 5 to 6 weeks.

When changes are made to the initial design or specialist windows with a longer order time this can add to this build time.

Loft conversion planning permission is not always needed says Jackson Loft Conversion

Most loft conversion don’t require planning permission

If for example you have a Victorian terrace house, you should be able to have a loft conversion with a rear dormer. This may also allow space for a en-suite bathroom. Discuss this with Richard’s on his first visit to find out what you would like. He will then contact an architect for draft drawings.

Would a spiral staircase in my loft conversion save space?

A spiral staircase is larger than a conventional staircase

Richard is often asked about a spiral staircase to their new loft conversion. A spiral staircase takes up more space than a conventional staircase and a open tread staircase design will not pass building regulations.

All staircases are designed specifically for your home.

French windows and railing balcony

Make the most of the view with a Juliet balcony on your dormer loft conversion. These french windows also bring more light into the room and great in the summer when wide open.

It will require a glass or metal railing across the opening for building regulations.
